Healthy Whole Wheat Buns

Who doesn't love fun and soft buns? Everyone loves them but you know what I personally love more? Making my own!!!!!! I love the fact that I have the ability to take something that I love to eat so much and make it myself and make it healthier!

These buns are made out of whole wheat flour and there is 0 sugar added! Sounds super healthy right? well yup! but not just healthy, they're super yummm!!

The only thing I want to say that its super important to sift the flour! When sifting the flour, you want the barn flakes to be left behind because they won't help making the buns any airier so its very important to sift the flour!!! So if you have lots of flakes left behind in the sifter, that's great!

These buns are also great for anything! Burger buns! Toasts! French toasts! Sandwiches! And anything else you can think of! When making the buns yourself, you also control how big or small the buns will be which is perfect! You can make them exactly how YOU like them! You can also top the buns with anything! You choose whether to egg wash the buns or not. You can also top with sesame seeds and you can even be more creative! Brush with some pesto on top, or maybe make it sweet by brushing with some honey/maple syrup. You choose!!!!

Alright soooooooo enough with the chatting and let get started!

WRITTEN RECIPE

All you need for about 15 medium buns is:

💙3 cups whole wheat flour

💙1 pack of yeast (1tbsp)

💙1 tsp salt

💙1 egg

💙1/4 cup honey

💙1/2 cup veggie oil

💙1 cup water

💙egg wash + sesame seeds for topping (optional)

💗start by sifting the whole wheat flour very well into a large bowl. This step is super important! Read why

💗into the large bowl add the yeast and salt and give a little mix.

💗in a medium different bowl, mix the wet ingredients together.

💗pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and start mixing with a tbsp. Then start kneading the dough for 10mins. If the dough is too dry, add a little bit more water until corporates. If the dough is too wet, add a little bit more flour until corporates. You should get a very smooth and soft dough in the end.

💗 place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until almost doubled in size.

💗after the rise, divide the dough into small balls (you can make them as big or as small as you want) and place on the pan. Cover and let rise for another 15 mins.

💗meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

💗egg wash + top with sesame seeds and bake in the oven for about 25-30mins.

And enjoy them when they’re warm and also later on when they cool down:)))))
